Kvareli Lake Resort Hotel

Kvareli Lake Resort Hotel

Dmark Architectural Studio as Architects

Nestled in the heart of Kakheti, one of the most beautiful region of Georgia and to the east of the small city Kvareli, beneath the southern slope of Great Caucasus Mountains the unique and beautiful Kvareli Lake Resort spreads over 300 hectares of beautiful natural landscape.

The virgin forest surrounding the resort, the lake in the front where the small rivers of Bursa and Chagurgula flow into, vast Alazani valley in the side and comfy hotel rooms each equipped with small terrace and beautiful panoramic views, make Kvareli Lake Resort a unique place to stay.

The terrain slopes gently and is broad with a spectacular field of view. There are green grass and trees beside the lake, blue sky and floating clouds above the mountains. Snow mountains and colorful forests reflacting their shadows on the crystal water of the lake.

The hotel offers 42 rooms fitted with ensuites and balconies, a wellness, bike, fishing and water ski services. In addition to a hotel bar, conference hall and a restaurant at ground floor level, an external garden with playground and big open terrace complements the facilities.

Restaurant terrace serves as a wonderful place for tourists to relax and enjoy the view. With the sound of wind, and the warm sunshine, you can take a sip of the delicious wine or enjoy Georgian traditional Cousine menu inspired by the region.

The aim was to create a space in perfect harmony with its natural surroundings, that somehow disappears within the environment. Inspired by the local region architecture and culture, we added natural stone on the ground floor base and wooden planks on facades. Big attention was paid to the selection of materials. The importance was given to sustainability and an energy and lighting saving system. Green roof terraces on the top level were used  for Solar panels.

Light openings on facades provide panoramic views and bring the sky and landscape inside the building. Every room, as well as the common areas, have the lake or Alazani valley view. The presence of the lake is evident in the material and color palette of the entire Hotel. Materials are all natural and mainly from the nearby area.

Building consists of 3 blocks, with terraced green roof floors. The rusted metal sheets used for ceilings on terrace and main entrance ground floor base to emphasize the different shades of green and brown colors during daytime, creates a unique, natural, warm and extraordinary living space in combination with natural stone and wood materials.

The interior space of the guest room reinforces the overall architectural concept. In terms of space guests are pushed to the balcony and green roof terrace area to expand the activity scope, so as to better enjoy the outdoor landscape and life.
