In a central street of Vigo, an old place for the sale of fabrics that has been closed for more than 10 years is discovered by the future owners of one of the most specialized stores in motorcycling culture.
Paños Vergas, a place opened in the 70s and closed for 10 years, kept inside one of the best designed spaces of that time.
After the renovation and tuning of the premises where several elements were updated and the most worn out were painted, the new tenants gave life again to this wonderful space.
The result is a space that stands out for natural materials such as wood, arranged in horizontal slats on the ceiling, or the skin that covers incredible counters of the 70s. Wooden shelves that previously housed cloths and fabrics now show wonderful helmets from different brands of the world Cafe Racer.
At the entrance, a round niche hides a corner in which different products are shown, walking through the original tiles one feels back in time and marvels at the decoration of the premises, at the end of the store, after some leather armchairs and a central counter, a concrete formwork closes a staircase and discovers a small corner in which plates and photographs of the motor world are exhibited.
The facade is resolved with a stone cladding in which a glass is fitted that gives vision to a shop window from which the entire store can be seen, in the upper part the old poster of the original store is still maintained.
The interior is full of elements with which an enthusiast of the motor world feels amazed. Curiously placed we can not fail to be amazed by an old record player of the 70s, a crankshaft or a couple of motorcycles.
The shelves that previously housed multiple fabrics are now a sample of helmets of brands such as Bitwell, DMD or Bell among others, the counters echo different brands of gloves as well as stickers and small accessories to customize the motorcycle as fists.
One of the counters boasts the most specialized press in the biker world with magazines such as Sideburn, Moto Heroes, Revival of the Machine, Iron & Air or Esses and exclusive books such as The Ride of The Bike Exif or MOTO by Alberto García Alix.
The rest of the store is full of clothes, t-shirts, caps, gloves or leather jackets of brands as well known in this world of Cafe Racer as Deus ex Machina, El Solitario, Dickies, Thunders Love ...
In short, a shop to spend and be surprised with both architectural and decorative jewels and the type of products they sell.
Welcome to La Urbana, a store with soul.
