This ground-up, 2-unit residential building is located in the Cow Hollow neighborhood of San Francisco. The lower unit is provided sole access to the rear yard, while the upper unit accesses a roof deck with panoramic views of the city and golden gate bridge. The light exterior material palette takes advantage of the diffused natural lighting condition that exists in this part of the city. The white massing elements are punctured by a series of windows that respond to specific view and lighting conditions. The concrete base creates tactile and visual weight to the lower level of the building.
