With 142 m², the 1980s property gains a new atmosphere through the expressive use of stainless steel, wood, and glass, along with custom solutions that reinforce the project's identity.

The renovation of apartment LM, located in Vila Mariana, in the southern zone of São Paulo, reflects a thoughtful approach to spatial integration and a precise combination of contrasting materials. Designed by the Zalc Arquitetura firm, the project transforms the original 142 m² into a contemporary, welcoming, and functional home.

To achieve this, the layout was reconfigured. The living and dining rooms were integrated, while the kitchen, although distinct, ceased to be a compact and dark space and became a spacious, airy, and well-lit environment.

Between these areas, one piece ensures continuity. A stainless steel bookcase runs through the social area and connects with the kitchen and master suite through a glass structure that separates the spaces.

Glass was also used as a solution to bring rooms closer together without merging them into a single space. The material allows for visual integration and light passage while ensuring acoustic and odor insulation—such as between the kitchen and social area, and between the bedroom and the office.

To reinforce the contemporary style, the project blends noble and rustic finishes. In the living room, stainless steel balances the presence of wood and concrete, creating a comfortable and sophisticated atmosphere. This combination is repeated in key elements of the project, such as the master suite headboard and the Arcos table, developed by the office itself, both made of ebonized wood and brushed stainless steel.

The materials were also used and combined to create a personalized feel. In the social area, a unique floor was created using straight and curved lines in terrazzo. In the kitchen, a touch of color and personality appears through the flooring from the Percurso line, designed by Rafael Zalc and developed by Dalle Piagge.

The LM apartment project was marked by strong synergy between the office and the client, which enabled a fluid creative process, with few revisions and a high level of customization.
