Lukarnen

A simple but spacious family house from the 19th century was adapted to the current needs of a family of four and renovated from the ground up. The ground floor was generously opened up, so that a space continuum connects several functions and leads via the likewise modified staircase to the completely rebuilt attic floor with family bathroom and two very spacious rooms. As the southern side of the street is temporarily exposed to high noise levels, the original closed condition of this side of the roof was retained, except for a small central dormer. The newly created living spaces in the roof are supplied with light, air and a lot of view via the side facades and especially via 3 different large square dormers, which provide a strong contrast to the ideal and partially restored regularity of the other three sides of the house.
