Macchiato is a pocket for the London Festival of Architecture 2026 in collaboration with Aldgate Connect BID. Located at Petticoat Lane Market in East London, the project transforms an underused urban space into a small gathering place through a circular bench inspired by the shape of a coffee stain.
The installation explores how a simple everyday gesture can become a catalyst for social interaction, encouraging people to pause, meet and reclaim public space.
