For Fortune 500-listed Markel Netherlands, the 38th and 39th floors of Delftse Poort in Rotterdam have been drastically transformed into a high-end interior with international appeal.
Located on the top floors of this prestigious skyscraper in the Rotterdam Central District, Up Architecture transformed the former archive floors of ‘Nationale-Nederlanden’ into an open and attractive workspace with a generous void and spectacular views over the city.
The two floors are connected by a distinctive staircase in the ‘Sky Park’, the lush green heart of the Markel workplace. Informal meeting and working areas, secluded seats, and an inviting social space with a grand bar can be found here. Mirrors connecting the relatively small windows pleasantly trick the user’s eye and enhance the spaciousness of the double-height space, with a focus on the magnificent views over the city of Rotterdam.
