Masi Boutique is a women's clothing store located in the center of the historical city of Sciacca, in Sicily.
The main goal of the project was the combination of the functional aspects, necessary for the management of a shop, and the aesthetic aspects, which form the identity of the place itself. To achieve this goal, a close collaboration between designers and clients was set up. The owner of the shop helped in the design process providing his experience in the sector, in the definition of some detailed design choices.
Given the position in the historic center, from which the impossibility of modifying the prospects of the building, the work is configured as an interior project, in it the accurate study of the materials and their combinations has allowed to exalt the proportions of the space, emphasizing the depth and dilating it.
The main character is a wall of gold-rose colored aluminum strips that develops inside the shop, and in addition to concealing the warehouse, it characterizes its image, becoming a symbol of recognition and identification of the place itself.
Height differences were resolved by defining spaces similar to catwalks and stages in which customers become the protagonists of a fashion show that is always in progress.
The lighting system is inspired by that of the exhibition galleries, identifying the items of clothing as real works of art, for which it was thought integrated with that of the hangers, using a regular grid of black painted metal that is articulated in space.
