MDB Clinic

The MDB Clinic project embraces organic forms and natural materials to create a welcoming and fluid space

Designed by Nati Minas & Studio, the project for the new headquarters of 'Clínica Medibel' — a plastic surgery clinic in São Paulo — draws inspiration from the forms of the human body to create a space centered on listening, care, and a sense of permanence.

The architectural design avoids right angles and favors curved lines, which appear throughout the woodwork, plaster ceilings, lighting, and furniture. This sense of fluidity is evident right at the clinic’s entrance, where an artificial circular skylight guides the eye and softens the transition from the urban exterior to the interior environment. Although it is an artificial light source, the element alludes to nature and reinforces the project’s intention to create an almost homelike atmosphere of welcome.

At the reception, the space is organized around a central piece made of raw Bahian travertine, hand-carved. The stone’s texture creates an interesting contrast with the minimalist design of the surrounding environment, reinforcing the blend of solidity and delicacy that runs throughout the project. Around it, continuous custom-made wood and upholstered benches follow the geometry of the space. In the center of the room, mobile modules allow the layout to adapt to the clinic’s dynamic routine, accommodating a significant flow of patients.

Additionally, on the walls, a textured gray finish introduces a duality of textures that highlights the materials and adds depth to the volumes. In the consultation rooms, the curved design language continues in the details of the furniture and woodwork. Throughout the entire space, the architecture follows a chromatic approach that responds to the patients’ time of stay, creating a more intimate and calming atmosphere.
