Located in Esteveira, Melides, this project is a single-family house consisting of several volumes and a swimming pool, all interconnected though outdoor spaces that form an angle, following the natural amphitheatre contours of the site.
Its layout follows the ridge line of the plot, which runs across the property from south to north and curves to incorporate the annexe, the first volume to the south, around a small valley. In addition to this, the garage is situated next to the entrance, shielding the house’s most private area, the living quarters, which are set apart to the north. Between the two lies the swimming pool in a more open area with good sun exposure, reflecting the landscape of the naturally amphitheatre-shaped valley.
The buildings are less than 10 metres apart. They were designed in this way to blend into the topography and make the most of the sunlight and the landscape.
Preserving the vegetation cover, without cutting or felling any trees, the design aims to make the most of the land, offering wide views and various access points on all sides of the property.
