Merchants, a long-standing client, tasked dhk thinkspace with creating a central hub for the executive & management teams of the various Western Cape-based contact centres.

Our design approach was influenced by creating a flexible and welcoming atmosphere, incorporating the idea of a "lab" style environment which promotes the testing and enhancement of new ideas all while including the latest technology. This culminated in a 100% agile environment of the highest standard.

The starting point was to plan a space that could be adaptable, diverse and interactive. As such, the breakout area was deliberately positioned in the centre of the space. This space functions similar to the kitchen of a “family home”, ensuring staff can engage effectively, share ideas and collaborate. From this pivot point, the space was organized to include private pods, organically shaped desks, meeting rooms, and ad hoc hang out spaces with integrated audio-visual capabilities.

This dynamic and contemporary hub created in a converted industrial setting embodies both Merchants' forward-thinking philosophy and core values, to their staff and clients. A second home for this great company.
