Milky’s dedication to thoughtful design is everywhere, right down to the cup a beverage is served in, which are designed to focus all attention on the drink inside. Soft-to-the-touch, tactile mugs will emulate the softness of frothed milk in a latte; complementary-coloured mugs are carefully designed to create a visually pleasing effect alongside a green tea beverage; large, comforting mugs will slightly cool herbal teas and enhance the drinking experience. The idea that everything surrounding the offering - from presentation to hospitality - is as important as the product has helped shape the concept of Milky’s.
“We are excited to offer a Canadian interpretation of coffee culture, bringing the same level of care for design and hospitality often only found in well-considered, fine restaurants to a neighbourhood coffee shop,” said Greenberg. “There’s at least one moment in everyone’s day where they’re vulnerable to being put in a good mood. Often that moment is at the very beginning of the day, or during a much-needed break. We want to be the most reliable place to compensate for things that might be missing from someone’s day: bright lights to counteract our long, grey winter days, a pop of bright colour to alleviate our mainly concrete streetscape, friendly baristas before heading out on a lonely streetcar ride.”
