MIYAGAWA ANGEL PARLOR

エンゼル (Angel) was a popular tuna restaurant of Misaki, south end of the Kanagawa Prefecture. It was known and appreciated by the whole community, thanks to its location next to the harbour which provided a daily supply of fresh quality fish and seafood products. It wasn’t a mere spot where to eat: it was the gathering place around which the locals of every generation spent their time and created the foundations for the village to build its identity. Unfortunately though, the restaurant closed several years ago, leaving a void in the town that was seeking for a replacement. Akira Nakamura Akira Nakamura The resulting context was very similar to another renovation project completed by Roovice in the nearby town of Miura; in th... More

Verve Manhattan Beach

Over the past few years, we have collaborated with Verve multiple times on new stores, retrofits, and work at their headquarters in Santa Cruz. The Manhattan Beach project was our third full buildout of a store with them and the first we have completed in Southern California.  Lauren Anderson Lauren Anderson The primary design goal for a  Verve space is for it to become part of the neighborhood fabric; they all have their own unique vibe. The only specific design standard is for the space to feel bright, airy and balanced, not overcrowded or stark. The Manhattan Beach location was a design experiment to realize a full service cafe, with a food service program into a minimal footprint (900 sqft). We pack a ton of equipme... More

We Coffee . Liberdade

We Coffee is a coffee shop with an Asian influence, with personalized products and a diverse menu of authentic coffees, teas, sweets and snacks. Romullo Fontenelle For its first store in Brazil, located in the Liberdade neighborhood in São Paulo, we provided an immersive, minimalist and contemporary space, translating the brand's language into space and thus creating the concept of the store network. Romullo Fontenelle Located in a region with a high density of simultaneous information happening around it, the proposal for the first We Coffee store in Brazil uses the counterpoint of its immediate surroundings, a minimalist and visual breath in the heart of Liberdade. Understanding the constraints and directions of pre-exi... More

Sinkihaero

Sinki Industry “Sinki Industry” is the brand that spread cafe culture in Yeongdo, Busan. It makes the factory a popular place that represents Yeongdo by changing the metal bell-making factory into a cafe. It manages the restaurant, stationery store, and cafe ‘Sinki Forest’ by reproducing the various buildings around it based on Sinki Industry. Joonhwan Yoon The company chose the village around Geoje, and tried the project to achieve success once again that they did in Yeongdo, Busan. Ilgwang_Yours

Joonhwan Yoon Recently, Gijang in Busan is attracting a lot of attention with special cafes. It is spotlighted by people who wanted to drink tea sitting facing the scenic sea. This is because people know that when they sit facing nature, their minds are naturally calm and their hard daily lives are healed. However, people rarely go to see the scenery and buildings again after visiting them like a tourist attraction. This is because the architectural space doesn’t have various dialogues (relationships) with the natural nature. So, I tried to induce various dialogues between the architectural space and the sea through ‘Ilgwang_Yours’. Instead of visiting once, I hoped that various dialogues would take place in this spac... DIE CREME

DIE CREME was designed and supervised by Sylwia Chwat TGH Studio in 2021 in Berlin, Germany. This breakfast spot uses only high-quality bioproducts to create the best breakfast experience you could wish for. All of the pastries are baked by the house, from scratch, to ensure the best flavor with the freshly roasted coffee on the side! Pion Studio The main key point for Sylwia Chwat was to use every inch of the space wisely because the total area is only 55sqm.While working on the layout we wanted to achieve as many sitting places as possible, so we decided to have a sitting bench in the main sale area instead of free-standing tables which gave the result what we wanted. The kitchen is located in the back of the building so we use the g... Demitasse

Demitasse is another project where Liqui was responsible for both the restaurant interior design and the build, while our creative agency Crate47 took care of the branding. Working hand in hand like this means that clients receive a fully integrated service that results in the brand and interior working in unison to create a truly harmonious brand experience. It also means that with everything being handled in one place, there is a flow of ideas back and forth between all disciplines leading to a greater degree of continuity throughout the project as a whole. Added to this is the practical aspect of Liqui taking care of every part of the interior fit out. This holistic approach was very appealing to the couple behind Demitasse who, having t... More

Rawsters Coffee

Rawsters Coffee and Supply Co. is a new generation coffee company which has two coffee shops in İstanbul and also supplies roasted coffee in high quality with its own distribution network which is one of the biggest chains in Turkey. Emre Dörter Emre Dörter With a bold approach, Wangan created the new concept of Rawsters based on the charm of contrasts. The second coffee shop of Rawsters is located in Akmerkez which is one of the most well-known malls in the city. While the light pink palladian terrazzo floor composed of traditional white marble, the maroon back wall color and the plywood secondary layer with curvy lines express warmness and femininity, the stainless-steel coffee bar and shelves with sharp edges and the... Brew92 - Mecca

Liqui’s modern coffee shop design for Brew92 in Mecca harks back to the glamour of Art Deco interiors. In particular, with a palette of bright pinks and blues being used throughout, the coffee shop interior reflects the Tropical Deco style of decor that’s so indicative of Miami’s beachfront hotels from an era full of optimism. The clean lines, strong geometric shapes, and curving forms synonymous with the buildings of the period can be clearly seen in the architectural features of the interior design such as the wraparound coffee counter design, the arched doorways, and the way in which the different sized tiles are delineated on the floors. The Deco style is also clearly expressed in the bespoke banquette seating islands... More

Café Slatkine

At the heart of Geneva's old town, Café Slatkine reinvents the genre of the literary cafe, books on one side and bottles on the other.    Opened in 1918 by Mendel Slatkine, the venue is an unmissable, centenary-old institution of Calvin's city. For a long time, it worked as a bookshop only. Two generations later, it made sense to convert the space into a literary cafe, combining the intellectual legacy to something more telling of our time.    In a relatively confined space, narrow in places and with an open window front on the street, the challenge was to bring together books and bottles, mixing heritage and contemporaneity, fiction authors with gossips at the counter. To do so, the architects designed two la... More

Brew92 - Palazzo

This was Brew92’s second branch in Riyadh that Liqui’s coffee shop designers have worked on. This is a coffee shop design of two halves – with one half of the walls, floors and ceiling being finished in black and the other in natural coloured wood. It had to tie in with their latest ‘Back To Basics’ approach which puts their speciality coffee at the heart of everything. This was followed through in the cafe interior with our long coffee bar design that is positioned front and centre. This makes the ground floor of this two-storey coffee shop ideal for socialising around the coffee counter. Surrounding the walls we’ve placed cafe furniture in the form of our Milne Chairs and Studio Cafe Tables with our Wo... More

Kisaku

Indonesian coffee culture is now rapidly growing, especially in big cities. Coffee shops appear anywhere in Jakarta due to the high demand of coffee consumption. Only a few coffee brands don’t just serve coffee as a product, but more that that, they also offer various coffee experience.   Kisaku is a coffee and social space located in the heart of Jakarta business district, a fairly dense environment, with target market on workers. The place is a manifestation of adaptive reuse of an old and humble one storey residential house into an open and welcoming coffee shop.
