OT began in 2013 as a humour and literature magazine, whose first motto, "Maksat Yeşillik Olsun", was spoken by the cow in its original logo. That same year the magazine opened a small table in Galata where writers, illustrators and readers would drop by for tea and conversation. In 2014, OT Grup turned that conversation into a franchise café brand, and the studio created both its first concept and its spatial identity, translating the magazine's layered, witty and warm voice into architecture. The OT Kafe concept received a Highly Commended distinction at the European Property Awards 2015-2016. Beymen Restaurant & Cafe Dortmund sits in North Rhine-Westphalia, the region where the Turkish community in Germany has its deepest roots and where Turkish entrepreneurship has grown for generations. For a Turkish restaurant here, the challenge is twofold: to remain authentic to its cultural origins, and to meet the expectations of a contemporary European dining audience. Bella explores how architecture can transform the perception of a large commercial interior without compromising its openness. Located on the ground floor of a shopping centre, the restaurant is defined by generous proportions, five-metre-high ceilings, wide structural spans, and panoramic glazing. Rather than hiding these conditions, the design uses them as the starting point for creating a more layered and human-scale environment. Taking inspiration from the regional art and architecture of India, the architectural forms follow a similar logic. Perkins Eastman gave new life to a historic building and designed a modern tower to establish a new luxury boutique hotel on New York City’s iconic Fifth Avenue at West 28th Street. The team worked alongside the developers, operators, and PBDW Architects to study this opportunity and create a lifestyle destination. A former bank that was designed in the early 1900s by McKim, Mean & White offered the optimal base.   Omni Royal Orleans is a historic hotel and one of the French Quarter's most storied destinations, dating back to 1843 when it first opened its doors as a grand hotel with high energy ballrooms and sweeping interiors. Many generations later, the building weathered war, decline, and revival, once even serving as a military hospital during the Civil War. It sat shuttered for decades, and eventually underwent a mid-century restoration that returned it to its original grandeur. Programmed and designed for flexibility from 10am to 2am, Spot Lite is a multi-use commercial space morphs each day between a community cafe, a local record shop, a remote office, a music venue, an art gallery, a dance party, and an event space.
