SANKAI

After the pandemic, restaurants transformed into social spaces that bring people together, acting as an important dynamic for urban life. Today, we can see that this tendency is evolving into "slow and customized" spaces. Gastronomic experiences are evoking senses of exploration and curiosity, allowing guests to engage with different cultures without travelling. These experiences upgrades the slowness trend into a different level. IBRAHIM OZBUNAR IBRAHIM OZBUNAR Sankai, reflecting the concept of hosting guests in a traditional Japanese house, is de-signed in line with these customised global trends by GEO ID. Sankai, which means "3rd Floor" in Japanese, is located on the third floor of Bebek Hotel. The interior, branding and iden... More

Canadian Cancer Society: Prevention+Support Centre

This project combines an extensive reimagining of the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) lodge and head office with an expansion to create a new entrance, amenity areas and a main gathering space. The renovation required integrating three interconnected building systems, each with its own code standards and varying architectural quality due to being built at different times. While it would have been easier to add a fourth building system, this would have created complexities for future renovations. Instead, the team decided to unify all the buildings and operate them as one. This meant gutting the three existing systems and replacing them with a single unified system. Where possible, building components were salvaged and reused in the new system... More

Spaces Eatery

Spaces is a contemplative eatery where a dreamy atmosphere evokes your senses, from the moment you arrived at the space. The space character is grounded by monolithic function and is softened by dividing drapes that evoke a sense of dreamy retreat and promotes contemplation. The monolith is the focal point of this space, crafted by a local artist in the UAE, brought and assembled in 3 major pieces on site. From the monolith, we carved a high table made from wooden plants, that serves as a bar. Yada Xishan Hotel Yixing

Located at the ecological park of Yixing Provence of China, the new Unbounded Collection of Hyatt Group is a retreat into nature. In-between architects designed the 99 rooms using the idea of a mountain teahouse as a metaphor. Seth Powers Seth Powers Seth Powers “The ceremony was an improvised drama whose plot was woven about the tea, the flowers, and the paintings. Not a color to disturb the tone of the room, not a sound to mar the rhythm of things, not a gesture to obtrude on the harmony, not a word to break the unity of the surroundings, all movements to be performed simply and naturally--such were the aims of the tea-ceremony."
