The homeowner, a banker, initially presented a reserved, introspective, and distant demeanor. Through repeated discussions and a gradual realization of their vision, a clear theme emerged: Mercury—the smallest planet in the solar system, known for its swift orbit and rotation, its resonance with the Sun, and its silver-gray tones (more accurately, with a hint of brown).
Since this theme arose post-design, the team refrained from overtly incorporating Mercury’s imagery. Instead, the homeowner’s preferences and lifestyle guided the project’s evolution.
