Nesting Plan II Green-backed Tit

Taking its name from the distinguishing yellow-green feathers running down its back, the Green-backed Tit inhabits forests in mid-to-high altitude mountains. One of the many endemic bird species of Taiwan, they can often be spotted around Sun Moon Lake. Highly-skilled in building bowl-shaped nests in cliff walls or in tree holesevery spring, the Green-backed Tit usesa variety of materials including moss, usnea, animal hair, bark or leaves and sticks.

The Nesting Plan, created by Taiwanese artist, Cheng Tsung FENG, mimics itsnest-building style from nature’s animal master architects. At Sun Moon Lake, FENG studied how Green-backed Tits constructed their nests and reproduced their nesting process and method. FENG then interpreted this delicate technique to construct a resting nest using human woodworking skills which welcomes travelers ashoreat Ita Thau Pier, Stunning lakes and imposing mountains echoing off each other makes Sun Moon Lake a place well worth visiting.
