A new policy of the Huhhot city is to densify specific areas of the city. This particular site (actually an art school) being near the center of the city is privileged by its surroundings having two of the main roads of the city adjacent to it. Once a landmark is built here, it will bring a great impact to the city and have great effects to the nearby areas. The products of this project are mainly commercial building (building base) and SOHO residence buildings (building body).

The SOHO buildings are set at the west and the south sides of the site which are near to the roads. The club is placed at the center of the site, so it can serve the whole plot; it also plays a role of community focus. The residence buildings are set to the north near the club. At the northeast part of the site serving as complement is a commercial building conveniently near to the residence buildings.

The concept under we shaped the buildings consist in two single building masses that converge in the south east corner, These two masses are “going” towards each other marking a door for the project. The pedestrian concept goes towards the idea of free open crossing paths throughout the project, this to enhance the commercial areas are easily reached from any direction, at the same time an underground commercial area connects to ground level by ramps and bridges, sunken plazas are a feature of the project that mark an example for future projects in the city of Huhhot.
