NISEKO HIRAFU HOTEL

KENZO ARCHITECTS & ASSOCIATES Co., Ltd. as Architects

We have designed a one-building hotel in Niseko, a world-renowned ski resort where guests can enjoy the breathtaking views of Mt. Yotei, known as the "Ezo Fuji."

To maximize the location, we incorporated continuous openings to create a sense of openness. The combination of concrete panels and decorative steel in harmony with the interior functions adds variation and rhythm to the predominantly glass exterior.

The interior showcases a luxurious yet serene atmosphere by using local Niseko wood, and plaster finishes mixed with locally sourced aggregates to highlight the texture of materials.

The spa area, spanning the 4th and 5th floors, includes a sauna, cold bath, and heated pool, offering enjoyment throughout the seasons.

The ceiling of the spa area features custom aluminum panels that visually bring the outdoor environment inside, blurring the boundary between interior and exterior. This design allows guests to fully experience Niseko’s natural environment while remaining indoors.

Our goal is to create a space where the genius loci of Niseko can be felt both visually and tactilely.
