Noorzad Lighting Showroom

The Noorzad lighting Showroom is located on one of the side streets branching off Qaani Street in Shiraz, the city’s primary commercial corridor for lighting-related businesses. The project’s main challenge was to establish a visual connection with this major commercial axis and capture the attention of passersby approaching from a distance. In response, the design of the storefront and its spatial depth became essential tools for creating a moment of pause, drawing visitors from the main street into the side street and, ultimately, into the showroom.

The design concept is based on the idea of theatre and theatrical stages. Just as a theatre stage, with the opening of its curtain, reveals a fragment of a story or a moment of everyday life, the showroom is conceived as a section through a house—a house in which different spaces are exposed, each presenting an independent narrative of light and its presence in everyday life. A series of frames and boxes operate as multiple stages, each depicting a different scene and moment of domestic life.

Within the interior, the project moves beyond the conventional approach of simply displaying lighting products. Instead, each object is positioned within a meaningful spatial context. Spaces such as the living room, bedroom, and other domestic settings are conceived as distinct scenes, allowing visitors to experience the function, quality, and effect of light within a realistic environment.

From this perspective, light is no longer regarded as an isolated product, but as a spatial element that gives meaning, depth, and identity to its surroundings. The storefront extends this same concept, departing from the conventional model of lighting showrooms, which typically consist of a large glazed surface with lighting fixtures displayed sequentially behind it.

The Noorzad Showroom is therefore not merely a place for displaying lighting fixtures; it is a space for experiencing light and exploring the ways in which it can shape the quality of everyday life and transform our perception of the surrounding environment.
