Pavilion Concept

Roca comes from the Mediterranean. 

Roca collection reflects the lifestyle of its origin, where light creates powerful shadows and dazzling shines in its land and sea.

Our pavilion proposes a sensitive journey through the Mediterranean feelings and the wonderful universe of Roca; a centenary company that produces, through its creations, comfort, beauty and care to this planet and its inhabitants.

A manufacturing process that mingles craft and industrialization, through innovation and continuous research towards wellbeing.

We showcase here the latest Roca production, Nu and Tura, through new ways of looking in dialogue with nature.

The architectural world of the Catalan Mediterranean territory becomes an inventive construction system: ceramic, wood, lattice, and shutters are presented for the first time in the Cortile D’Onore in Interni.

This valuable material will be carefully dismantled and reused after the show in Milan in harmony with the Re-Evolution motto.

Project

A platform with the shape of the given plot elevates the installation above the perimetral hedge.

On top, series of wavy walls describe a suggestive itinerary, like in a little maze. 

The different heights and levels of transparency of these walls allow to glimpse the internal paths.

The visitors promenade between these, flowing into the plaza opening up to the main cortile of the Università degli Statale and offering several seats to rest and gather. 

Textures of various materiality constitute the installation.

Mainly in wood, the traditional blinders are combined with brick bonds to compose the vertical surfaces.

Special ceramic tiles sprinkling the flooring, present the new Roca collections in an amusing way.
