Located in Dallas, Texas, Oak Cliff Casita represents a long collaboration between Best Practice Architecture and an old friend—the designer of the studio's logo. What was once a historic garage and storage room is now a comfortable casita for visiting friends and family.
The open layout includes a large living space, modest kitchen, cozy sleeping nook, and a 3/4 bath containing a comfortably sized spa-like shower. The sleeping nook is painted a luscious green and is fitted with maximum storage and shelving for books, art, and a pull-out dog bed. The original garage carriage door was left in place with a new sliding glass door installed behind it. The result allows for maximum privacy and protection from the hot Texas sun while providing great views of the surrounding garden.
