A New Beginning – Bent Glass Railing

Glasshape as Manufacturers

Enveloped by the picturesque beachfront of Mt Maunganui, the brand new (well, almost brand new), 2 Marine stands proud in her impressive array. Starting in 2021, the building formally known as the Oceanside Tower One underwent an eighteen-month modernization project which Glasshape were privileged to play an integral part in.

Through utilizing Glasshape’s 3D Digital Measuring Services, a best-fit constant radius that could be applied to all thirty-six balconies was able to be determined, providing significant cost benefits and simplifying the process for all trades involved, including the curving and installation of the channel, and manufacture and installation of bent glass.

Partnering with iLine Construction and Abbas Balustrades, Glasshape once again delivered bent and specialist glass with excellence. With its thirty-six balconies now clad with frameless TemperShield® bent, toughened (tempered) & structural laminated 18.28mm (11/16 inch) Sentry Glass balustrades, residents of 2 Marine can treat themselves to uninterrupted views of the Pacific Ocean twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

“Glasshape were professional and efficient to deal with from the outset, and iLINE could rely on them for the successful delivery of a critical project element“.

The result of using Digital Measurements assures an accurate fit and finish of the Glass which marries perfectly with the existing balconies. The finished installation reflects the combined efforts of all involved in this very special project.
