At Eleven Eastern, a sweeping curved glass staircase becomes the sculptural centrepiece of the building’s double-height lobby, translating Rothelowman’s free-form architectural language into a continuous, transparent gesture.
Glasshape engineered and fabricated 24 bespoke TemperShield glass panels to follow the staircase’s complex geometry. Using 3D laser scanning to capture the as-built structure, each curved and flat panel was digitally modelled and manufactured to tight tolerances, allowing the balustrade to trace the spiral seamlessly, without compromising transparency or structural performance.
The result is a precise intersection of architecture, engineering and craftsmanship, where glass amplifies the movement and light at the heart of the space.
