Just 500 meters from the border with Gibraltar, between the Bay of Algeciras and the Alboran Sea, lies the Historic Center of La Línea de la Concepción, a small low-density urban center with a longitudinal structure made up of single-family homes and pedestrian streets. . 

The plot where the house is developed has a narrow and elongated morphology, almost at the limit of the necessary conditions for habitability, with just 3.5 meters wide and 15 meters long. On the contrary, the south orientation of the plot and the magnificent views towards the Rock of Gibraltar made it possible to provide good conditions of natural light, ventilation and attractive visuals to a low-budget home with difficult execution conditions. 

The first decision was to build two party load-bearing walls of perforated ceramic brick, an inexpensive material manufactured to be clad, but during the execution of the home the clients agreed to leave it visible as a final finish. These walls, in addition to providing color and texture, function as a thermal accumulator, improving the bioclimatic behavior of the home.

On the other hand, the decision to locate the night and service areas on the lower levels of the house made it possible to include a singular space of greater height that visually connected all the exterior spaces of the plot, using a direct and continuous gesture. formalized as a vault that simultaneously embraces and decompresses space. At the same time, light clay ceramic vaults, used as lost formwork for the roof of the house, complete the interior envelope with no other coverings than the few natural lime plasters that cover the walls provided with wet core installations. 
With these simple operations, it is achieved that each area has a direct relationship with an outdoor space (patio, terrace and roof), that there is a visual concatenation between all the spaces of the house and that the sunlight continuously crosses all the levels of the home. .
