osB&B

IN-NOVA STUDIO as Architects

The B&B, at the time of “tourists invasion” assume an important role for our cities, if not fundamental, expecially for the risk of making the dwellings of the inhabitants of the urban community similar to anonymous small hotels, impersonal, unrelated to the community "expelled" from the urban center.

From the initial idea of offering hospitality in your own home, in what was once the guest room, we moved quickly to much bigger structures, often designed to be similar to small hotels.

In this passage we lost a lot of the initial idea, of the cultural exchange that involves a perfect stranger in your own home, probably the most important reason for which many people preferred to choose this type of accommodation.

The idea behind the conversion in B & B of this typical apartment in the historic center of Naples, is precisely in conceiving the structure as a single "home environment", without distorting the architecture and the distribution of the apartment in favor of a new distribution of the spaces that could be economically more prolific.

The 140 square meters of surface available are divided into 2 apartments of 50 square meters each, perfectly autonomous, large and airy, equipped with: living room and bedroom in open space, bathroom and kitchen.

The elements that strongly characterize the rooms are in fact furnishings, bookcases and dividers made of osb, not necessary from the material point of view for a person who lives those spaces for a few days, but who immediately transmit the feeling of being in a house - rather that in a room - designed to be fully experienced.

In this perspective the apartment is not unsettled but only changed into a new life; just like the material that characterizes it: the osb, product of wood waste that reborn in a new material, poor, but incredibly versatile and fascinating.
