PALAFOLLS PUBLIC LIBRARY

The area where the library is built Esplanes Park on the outskirts of Palafolls, a place with a strong value with naturalistic, south, the presence of agricultural land and river delta Tordela and, for west, a river park. The project idea is being able to blend the new intervention with the existing landscape and at the sometime to make this space independently and in close relationship with nature that surrounds him.

The library comprises about 700 square meters, divided into areas for adults, children, newspaper conference room, relaxation areas, storage spaces and services, according to a trend “labyrinthine”.

Through a non-linear succession of gardens and dividing walls, and outside the park creep inside the different areas are marked internal. The library is thus presented as one big classroom, in which natural light enters from many different denominations, in close contact with patios, with their low walls, while protecting the visitor, not impede the view of the environment.
