This project was a spatial design proposal that embodied the concept of newly developed linear lighting for Panasonic's “HomeArchi” lighting fixture series. 

The resulting space was photographed and featured in the catalog. 

The project began by discussing potential space proposals with the clients, showing them images to explain how we could create spaces based on specific concepts. 

The requirement was to use the newly developed HomeArchi Line Light Square Style series, which are visually appealing indirect lighting fixtures, in a way that maximizes their appeal and offers a fresh perspective.

Conventional indirect lighting is mostly architectural lighting that conceals fixtures and illuminates the architectural space.

In contrast, the defining feature of the “HomeArchi Line Light Square Style” series is its ability to create unique architectural spaces by intentionally revealing the lighting fixtures. 

Spaces lit by indirect lighting convey a sense of depth and a gentle atmosphere. We explored the best way to showcase line lighting while leveraging its characteristics.

To this end, we decided to maintain linear continuity throughout the space while segmenting it according to function. By installing linear lighting on the walls and ceilings of each space, we aimed to create a sense of depth in the space. 

Furthermore, while it is generally considered undesirable for linear lighting to reflect off glass surfaces, we intentionally reflected light from them to create an effect that further emphasizes a sense of depth. 

In addition to these features, we incorporated Panasonic's philosophy of “lighting tailored to each person," which means illuminating only what is necessary, when necessary, according to how one spends their time. 

Various lighting elements are added throughout the space, complementing the accent line lights. Controlling these lights allows the entire space to respond to each scene, creating varied expressions suited to different daily activities within the same environment.
