The rehabilitation of the Whereabouts Dr. Galvez began in 2016 (La Palma) has as its objective the recovery of the public space that is located there, allowing a decent space to be granted to the area, which would not only benefit the inhabitants of the surrounding neighborhoods but also A large part of the population uses it to get around from that point, since it is an important communication node between two of the most important avenues in the southern area of Mexico City.
It is also intended to give greater security to the area, since in a certain sense, the site is an unsafe place due to the lack of lighting and the little surveillance that exists.

In addition, it is intended to rehabilitate a historical space that little by little was absorbed by street commerce, being important to mention that we find the Convento del Carmen in the next block.
The proposal includes the rearrangement of transit roads for public transport (trucks of different routes), rearrangement of platforms to give users greater security when taking a bus with different routes, and also the improvement of sidewalks to avoid street vendors. It is intended a leveling of the land for adequate drainage and the change of pavements to materials that require less maintenance cost; It also includes the improvement of pedestrian crossings and a redesign of green areas, conserving the trees and palm trees that currently exist on the site.
The landscape design was completed in 2022, in order to visually integrate the entire whereabouts, the proposal was based on the natural curves that delimit the site. Sidewalk lines are proposed in reference to the current curvature.
with the design of pavements in order to give an image of integrity throughout the whereabouts.

With the principle of providing safety and environmental quality to the user, the lighting project maintains the pedestrian scale as a priority, without forgetting the main use of the site. The lighting project contemplates a single type of luminaire, which has been used in other urban rehabilitation projects and which respond to the needs of the site. Said luminaire to illuminate the sidewalks is punctual, although sufficient and placed at such a distance that it does not leave sections without lighting and does not dazzle the user.
