From the 80's, the north-south oriented building by renowned local architect Gilberto Pascoal, easily pleased the new residents. Morning sunlight in the rooms, large openings and consequent abundant natural lighting and ventilation, plus the privileged location in the city, made the great challenge that was to come worth it.

The renovation should encompass all environments, including the change of all windows, as well as floors, wall coverings, doors, electrical wiring, hydraulic pipes, plum relocation, carpentry and waterproofing on the upper floor.

The project preserved the original internal distribution, except for the laundry and upper toilet - that had small design changes- also some walls were demolished and replaced by glass sliding doors.

In the kitchen, now integrated, a concrete beam has been left apparent and became the protagonist of the lower floor, as it not only marks the limit of the kitchen with the rooms, as unfolded by the brutality of the concrete, with the nail marks and hand made marks attracting the attention of guests.

The original doors, with conventional height, have been replaced by new doors that take the entire opening, which value the expressive ceiling of the apartment, a striking feature of the older buildings. The original Ipe wood door leaves have been taken care of and adapted to the new doors that now are incorporated on the walls.

The minimalist concept of the design is also present in the choice of the main flooring, wall covering materials, wall-painted ranging from gray to white plus the contrast with the carpenters in natural freijó wood. On the second floor, a large room next to a bar designed with wooden slats, integrate itself to the balcony in L, where there are the barbecue area and the pool.

The geometrically shaped tile floor and the burnt cement of the walls create a discreet atmosphere for the decoration and allow the green of the foliage from the vertical garden - a premise of the residents- to form a beautiful background in the eyes for those who climb the stairs. Tropical species have adapted very well to the garden and require very low maintenance, due to the automated irrigation and a rich substrate. All metals such as copper and aluminum, in addition to the woods, stones and rubble generated in the renovation were properly separated and disposed of. Some of the material were sold to recycling cooperatives and others were managed by a specialized solid waste company.
