The interior of an apartment in a new complex on the waterfront in Amsterdam Noord is re-coded into a grounding, tactile interior that offers a monolithic and meditative space for our client. In contrast to the sharp modernity of the glass and metal architecture, the interior design introduces layers of calm, depth, and softness.
Contrasted clay-plastered walls, ceilings, and floors envelop the space in an earthy tactility, fostering a grounding energy that anchors the interior. Subtle textures and carefully composed details encourage a sense of stillness and connection, while the warmth of the lighting guides the eye between moments of light and shadow. The result is a grounding residence overlooking the vibrant energy of Amsterdam.
