Pied-à-terre is a 45sqm studio in central Beirut, designed as a peaceful retreat amidst a noisy world. Translating to "feet on the ground," it offers the client a serene space atop a building.
The interior embraces minimalism, with clean lines, embedded functions, and a monochromatic texture. Hidden cabinetry at the entrance ensures clutter-free living. The architecture follows the sun's path, with a sunken sleeping area adjacent to a terrace offering panoramic views. The slanted roof supports solar panels, powering this off-grid unit.
The design flows seamlessly from terrace to entrance, blending a concrete finish with natural walnut pieces like StudioBo's Pigeonnière table and Port-vin wine bar. The kitchenette combines fluted walnut wood with a grey terrazzo countertop and provides essential amenities. The concrete aesthetic extends to the bathroom, which features a rain shower and sliding glass door.
