The property underwent extensive renovations, losing the guest room to expand the living room, opening space to the home-theater and the home-office, among other structural changes.
To expand the kitchen, for example, the door and walls that delimited the service area were knocked down. The laundry room, after the renovation, was “hidden” inside a closet with hinged doors. This cabinet also hides the gas heater, so the doors are perforated to provide the necessary ventilation.
After these layout changes, the kitchen, laundry and condensers were laid out in a line, seeking to create a single volume. The cooktop and oven are located on an island in the center of the apartment, which is also used for quick meals.
As the second bedroom, the service area and the balcony were integrated into the living room, it was possible to create a spacious and pleasant social area. In this way, it was possible to comfortably house the home-theater and the home-office in the expanded space. The Vão table, signed by our office, is placed behind the sofa to be used as a work area, and also dividing the two spaces.
The balcony was glazed to make it an indoor environment, with the floor completely leveled with the living room. In this space, we proposed a small bar and a set of armchairs. The joinery there hides the air conditioning condensers and even serves as a sideboard.
In the bathrooms, even keeping the same floor, metals and toilet, it was possible to carry out a major transformation. And in the suite, we created a second home-office space to serve the couple when they both work at home.
