PIT is the set design project for TOCA’s “Silk of Darkness” Timeless Collection runway show. Developed from reused materials from another intervention carried out in the same building, the project aimed to organize the models' path, distribute photo and video recording points, prioritize the prominence of the existing architecture, and at the same time characterize the space as a temporary intervention.

Natural aluminum tubes, cut and perforated, were sanded and reconfigured into a sort of guardrail, forming an “island” around the single central, orthogonal pillar that defines the turning point of the runway. Inside this structure, speakers, video cameras, and guests fill and simulate a “box seat.”

The cruciform arrangements and plastic chairs covered with white fabric — typical elements from churches, weddings, and banquet halls — resonate with the original soundtrack by Vinicius Duarte, which mixes collages of religious motifs with aggressive rhythms like gabber.

The anodic, aseptic, and sterile lighting — common in galleries and art spaces — contrasts with vernacular and popular elements such as the bride who closes the show to the sound of “Blue Kentucky Girl,” by Loretta Lynn, walking toward the “perch” of fans and their cameras.
