Contemporary and exotic atmospheres distinguish Palermo’s new Pokè Boll restaurant. Originally a coffee house, the space was characterised by small, pokey rooms, with the irregular plan typical of historical buildings.

The new project optimises spaces, exploiting the street level openings present at best, giving back a warm, young and fresh vision, just like the product on sale: the classic Hawaiian Pokè.

The most distinctly connotative element is the colourful and exotic wallpaper that stands out along all the perimetral walls. The floor – a grey coloured Venetian terrazzo – climbs up to a height of 1.20 m from the ground. The pillars present on sight have been rectified so as to obtain containing recesses – custom made worktables and benches characterised by turquoise blue wooden wainscoting, which become containers and vases for exotic plants in the dining hall. The recesses are themselves characterised by double T crossbars that act as an anchoring mechanism for climbing exotic plants and spotlights.

The worktable, which is covered in turquoise blue painted metal, is diagonal to the entrance and rounded, for a better welcome to the establishment; it develops lengthwise and stops at the entrance of the laboratory.
