Italian architect Nicola Spinetto transformed a neglected backyard garden into a wonderful multi-layered landscape. Designed for a private client in the Italian town of Chiavari, the Pop Up Garden give new life to a steep outdoor area. The garden features luscious terraces made from untreated Douglas Fir, a shaded eating area, a small kitchen with an oven and a decking floor for the family to enjoy. Designed in collaboration with Daniele Mainetti, this layered garden is located at the back of a family home in the town of Chiavari on the Italian Riviera. The garden measures 540 x 40 square feet, and it accommodates the steep terrain with three terraced levels. The vegetated terraces open up the space while protecting four mature olive trees. At the back of the garden, a summer kitchen clad in Douglas Fir, comes complete with an oven for cooking thin crispy pizza. All of the garden’s structural elements are made from the same type of untreated wood, which will weather into grey with the passing of time. Spinetto’s Pop Up Garden is a stunning green oasis that’s sure to provide its residents with pleasure and joy.
