Fun with art, i.e. American pop-art in a newly opened restaurant!
POP in - Diner & Bar is a new place in the center of Gdynia, where classic American cuisine is served! The interior of the restaurant was designed by the Sikora Wnętrza studio, and inside you can find an unusual combination of art and culinary space. The entire interior has been exposed with AQForm lighting.

Beautiful bricks under the rubble of the former pump room
POP in - Diner & Bar is a new place in the center of Gdynia, with an area of 189 m2, located in the vicinity of the famous "Sun" milk bar. The authors of the design are architects from the Sikora Interiors studio, and their adventure with creating this place was, as they say, extraordinary. Initially, the architects had to remove the existing interior of the beer pump room with a hammer, saw and dynamite, and get rid of the equipment of wooden platforms, columns, bar and coffers. What they unveiled amazed them, and they were beautiful old bricks and walls torn by the signs of the times. The decision was made automatically - such an arrangement had to remain and form the basis of the project. The originality of the interior is emphasized by the delicacy and expression of an artistic gesture.
Illuminated art!

The main assumption in the project was to play with art. Inspirations were references to American Pop-art, compositions from the work of Alexander Lieberman, mosaics from Central Park and paintings by Ewa Konieczna-Pilachowska and Andrzej Konieczny.

“The space creates wit and play with the convention of a typical industrial style. A wall made of 24,000 bricks, inspired by works created in public spaces and wall stickers, has become one of the main elements associated with POP-in. The graphics were prepared by Jacek Wielebski - a well-known graphic designer and co-creator of Traffic Design. Such a project required the use of lighting that would highlight the interior and emphasize its qualities. We chose busbars from the AQForm brand, the PET next LED track model, which was perfect for displaying the designed art. " - says Jan Sikora from the Sikora Wnętrza studio.

The specially selected and varied lighting chosen by the architects was aimed at drawing attention to the industrial character of the interior, while at the same time providing an interesting background for social gatherings.
Details. The arrangement of such a space requires careful selection of details to make the interior unique, but not exaggerated. The architects chose pop-art armchairs and a leather sofa to arrange it, which would fit best with the raw brick walls. Investors have long wanted to create something unique and refined in every little detail, and the Sikora Wnętrza studio rose to the occasion to help make this dream come true.

Sikora Wnętrza is a studio that has been designing and implementing interiors and objects for many years. They are characterized by a positive and constructive approach to design. They constantly cooperate with construction teams, carpentry workshops, suppliers and specialists, taking care of every detail of the space being implemented.
