Family house realized with wooden frame and ventilated wall with extra-thin lamin. energy certification class A

Enrico Iascone Architetti as Architects

This family house is located in an extensive 1960s residential spillover area near Modena, ceramic manufacturing heartland. Its stand amid other detached houses surrounded by small gardens on a plot once occupied by a detached house, now demolished. The high-end design used prefabbricated wooden elements for the aboveground storeys on a concrete undergruond level. The thermal insulation and umidity control afforded, went a long way to obtaining class A energy certification. Choosing joint-mounted prefabrcated wooden elements provided the advantagies of on-site safety and assembly occurancy, that cut overall worksite time considerably. The whole architecture is a play on opposite: a large apparently monolitic volume whose more secluded sides have different size glazed lights giving glimpses into deep interiors and providing views onto the outside. The ventilated wall is clad with extra-thin laminam ceramic slabs. Its gray-black shades lending materiality and elegance. The windows and door frames are in burnished bronze. The laminam ceramic sladdings cover both walls and roof, the latter also laid with photovoltaic film. The programme try to be an example of how tecnology and sustainability can be happily combined with quality architecture and lifestyle. On the north side, the house present a compact front with the ground level parking area. To the east , wooden floor terraces with glass parapets mediate the extend of daylight enetering the interior.
