A mother with two children who works outside the home wanted a spacious apartment that could comfortably accommodate the whole family while preserving their identity and lifestyle. The apartment was designed to feel as spacious as possible and was divided into two main sides. On the left are the master bedroom, master closet, home theater and office. The living room acts as a central divider, while the children’s bedrooms and closet are located on the opposite side. The kitchen and service areas are positioned at the back of the apartment.

The client wanted to balance her lifestyle of hosting friends and family at home with the children’s daily routine. The living area has a particularly generous extension, and the layout was designed to position the TV room closer to the children’s bedrooms, while the living and reading areas are located closer to the home theater and master bedroom.

Renovation and interior design renewal. The renovation transformed a bedroom that had previously been used as a closet into a guest suite. The home theater was reduced in size to expand the master closet, while the master bathroom was enlarged to accommodate a bathtub. The interiors of all social areas, bedrooms and bathrooms were also redesigned and updated.

The existing water heaters had to be replaced. To accommodate the new layout, additional electrical and lighting points were installed. The addition of a bathtub to the master bathroom also required new plumbing infrastructure, as did the relocation of the sink and toilet.

The inspiration was to create a boho-style home that authentically reflected the client’s lifestyle. The design combines vintage and contemporary elements, resulting in an environment that translates the client’s personality and essence.

Renovating an older apartment always comes with surprises. This project was particularly complex because it involved three integrated apartments, which meant dealing with several structural columns and beams that required significant adaptations.
As the building is old, many elements were no longer exactly as shown in the original floor plan we received, having been altered over the years. This led to a few unexpected discoveries during the renovation, but we were able to address them smoothly throughout the process.
