On the periphery of the historic centre of Haarlem, 200 houses, 6,000 sqm shopping, 1,200 parking spaces, 11,500 sqm leisure space including restaurants, entertainment and offices have all been carefully integrated into the existing urban fabric. The Raaks plan is organized around a series of urban spaces and parks. New residential buildings match the scale of the historic city centre buildings with the striking De Lantaarn building and a cinema forming a new gateway to the the city centre. Kraaijvanger • Urbis is responsible for urban masterplan, public spaces, two housing blocks, a parking garage and the church renovation.
