In this house of more than 300 m2 located in a modernist building in Rambla of Cataluña in Barcelona, it was made a redistribution of spaces. It allowed in this way to obtain a more practical and functional area, being able to enjoy all the corners of the penthouse and recovering all those architectural elements.

Project
In the central area of Barcelona, the owners wanted to optimize the existing space and obtain a better distribution of the house creating homogeneous and fluid areas. The house consists of two hexagons and a large outdoor terrace, making the distribution project the most complex part. It was endowed with practicality and it was given a style in accordance with the time of the house. We provided the building with classic elements such as moldings combined with different antique glasses that can be seen in most spaces.

The different natural woods with cement tiles and the recovery of old doors, whitewashed walls, recovered trimmings... add an eclectic touch. It was decided to use neutral finishes and refined lines where different pieces and design complements are displayed. Light and neutral colors are combined with others with more character such as: black, purple and dark green. The hall is characterized by marbles and complements where the golden finishes, creating a perfect dialogue that plays with the dining room.

The kitchen is an important area of the house and is one of the accesses to the terrace. The annex is totally closed, but transparent, giving way to this winter dining room. Delimited by a cement tiles and with a central island with a suspended lamp, it allows to create a cozy and collected environment. The kitchen is open to the dining room and is separated from the living room by a recovered panel.

The studio and the suite are located in another hexagonal area of the house, creating a very personal atmosphere. The furniture, join with the different accessories, add value and personality to the area. For bathrooms, it has sought to give more presence to the decoration. The walls are painted in dark tones creating a contrast with the color palette of other rooms. Brass elements and restored furniture are incorporated to give a more eclectic approach to the environment.

Materials Used :
In terms of materials, The Room Studio opted for the use of different woods that combine with noble metals in golden finishes. The house was equipped with current and colorful furniture, that is combined with other older elements and stained glass windows that are found throughout the property. The luminosity is one of the main strengths of the house, highlighting each of the areas and overlooking all of Barcelona.

On the walls, natural materials such as lime tiles were used in their natural tone, that contrasts with dark colors and with more character in other areas. Each space is equipped with the maximum functionality, where the goal was the connection and dialogue between all the spaces in the house.
