Right at Paris’ doorstep, the Evergreen Campus hosts the Crédit Agricole’s head office. Multiple corporate entities share this space; the entire campus revolves around a central park that acts as its green lung.
The reception pavilion spans on 600 m2 and two levels. A familiar landmark for those who work on the campus, it also helps visitors find their way more easily. This architectural structure opens the campus to the city and is in line with the site’s environmental vocation. Nine bending radiuses were necessary for the metallic exterior’s complex design:
- The “comma”, that protects the personnel’s entries with its porch;
- The pavilion in itself, mostly glassed, by which visitors enter the site at street level and can access the campus at the first level inside.
The building manages to cohesively blend its contemporary design to create a welcoming atmosphere in a fully functional environment.
At street level visitors are welcomed under an awe-inspiring vaulted arch lit by colored LED lines showcasing different lighting patterns. At campus level a space that is largely open to the park can be used to host temporary exhibitions. It is also able to receive an audience, as was asked by the Montrouge municipality. The building’s clear and bright tones express its modern and rigorous craft.
The pavilion renews the site’s image, becomes the Evergreen campus’ store window and expresses the Crédit Agricole’s values of innovation and efficiency by displaying its architectural boldness.
Arte Charpentier led the architecture, interior design and landscaping missions on the project.
With its sinuous and soaring form, this metal clad Reception Pavilion has become a familiar landmark at the Evergreen Campus in Paris. A complex exercise in geometry, the drawings for the metal shell required nine different radii of curvature. The frame itself is entirely metal and clad with ALUCOBOND® from 3A Composites. An example of a simple yet elegant material palette that allows the impressive form of the pavilion to come to the fore, ALUCOBOND® was also used to created the frames for the glazed facade areas. Arte Charpentier Architects and 3A Composites were subsequently awarded with the Duo@work prize for outstanding collaboration between architect and manufacturer.
More from the Manufacturer:
The welcome pavilion of the Evergreen campus in Montrouge by Arte Charpentier is designed as an open sculpture. The lodge has 600 m² on two levels and is composed of two entities: the "comma", which protects its canopy entrance porticos reserved for staff; the pavilion itself, by which visitors access the site. With its glass front the pavilion has a very high transparency with view to plant environments inside the campus. Open to the city, it also serves as a filter ensuring security. The drawing of the metal shell that covers the volume required nine radii of curvature. The frame is entirely metal and clad with ALUCOBOND®. On the facade green frames made of ALUCOBOND® create the connection between the building and the green park landscape.
Arte Charpentier Architects and 3A Composites have been awarded with the Duo@work prize for good collaboration between architect and industry.
