Riera is the renovation of a flat in a 1960s building, located along the former course of the Riera de Matamoros, in the historic centre of Badalona. The plot has elongated proportions, and the depth of the floor plan is interrupted by a courtyard.
The project embraces its linear condition and is organised along a service and storage core of variable thickness that runs the full depth of the plan, defining the more private spaces.
This element establishes a continuous sequence throughout the flat, incorporating service and defining circulations. In the process, three private rooms are created, and a clear separation between the day and night areas is defined in response to solar orientation.
