Rose Street explores small space living within a challenging context of over shadowing neighbours. The projects aim was to create a home that represented the true values of our client and in response we explored new ways of living, detailing & the articulation of light.

Our main principle for the design was to deliver a project that didn’t feel compromised by the dominant site context, small building envelope and budget constraint. We suggested that to achieve this principle we’d needed to focus on what creates quality space and understand our client’s true values. Following several workshopping sessions, we presented a proposal which explored hybridizing key functional spaces (Kitchen/Dinning & Bathroom/Laundry), that focus on the capturing of light and garden and contradicts expectations around typically planning of living spaces.
