Rotondo Café is conceived as an urban space that combines contemporary precision with artisanal warmth. The intention behind the project is to build an atmosphere where design acts as a silent framework for the coffee ritual: a place able to engage with the vibrant rhythm of Villa Crespo without losing its vocation as a refuge.

The fully glazed façade, generous in height and transparency, establishes an immediate connection between the interior and the city. From the sidewalk, warm lighting and the movement of the team behind the bar invite passersby to approach; the architecture works as an open threshold, where the boundary between outside and inside becomes permeable. The deep blue metal structure adds presence and order, creating a precise contrast with the soft, earthy textures of the interior.

In the main space, surfaces finished with warm plaster and light wood compose a sensory language that blends the tactile with the luminous. The design relies on an honest aesthetic, free of artifice: simple lines, noble materials, and a palette grounded in natural tones. Light—abundant and diffuse during the day, then more focused and enveloping toward the afternoon—shapes the volumes and enhances the intimacy of the space.

The operational core unfolds across two levels. In the basement, the kitchen and support areas function as a precise machine that sustains the culinary concept. Above, a mezzanine overlooks the work area, creating a vertical relationship that integrates the café’s movement with the experience of those seated there. This partial double height adds depth and makes the internal pulse of the place visible.

The outdoor bar, conceived as a gesture toward the city, turns the sidewalk into a natural extension of the café. Here, everyday rhythm blends with the aroma of freshly baked bread and direct interaction with the team. High stools, a textured stone counter, and gentle lighting invite both brief pauses and spontaneous encounters.

Vegetation in the perimeter planters adds freshness and softens the geometry of the volumes. Long leaves and trailing species draw a green boundary between the street and the outdoor tables, offering a visual respite that reinforces the calm identity of the space.

Altogether, Rotondo Café creates an experience that moves between contemporary precision and everyday calm.
