Located in Lujan, Buenos Aires, Casa "Elementos", was born from the concept of fusing the architecture of a family home with the elements of nature, which was the fundamental inspiration of the project. Earth, water, air, fire and vegetation that not only coexist, but are celebrated as essential components of the spatial experience.
The water is introduced in a captivating way through a pond located in front of the house, creating a mirror that reflects not only the image of the surroundings, but also the serenity and calm of the grass and trees around the house.
The internal patios are abundantly vegetated, act as green lungs, on a human scale, they generate natural lighting and break with the interior-exterior limit.
Fire is present through wood. Firewood appears to evoke a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the home, located in common spaces.
While the open structure of the house allows air to flow freely, filtered through the brick structure offers an open view and allows the hole-made-brick to generate lights and shadows projected on the floors in a very particular way.
Located on a one-hectare pond, the house seeks to take advantage of the breadth of the land without losing the feeling of warmth and closeness, creating smaller and more welcoming patios, designed on a more intimate scale to provide meeting and rest spaces. With a clear reference to traditional rural constructions, Elementos is dressed with exposed brick, a material that not only gives the project a rustic and timeless character, but also becomes a functional tool that regulates natural light. This brick acts as a partition and parasol, controlling the entry of light and casting evocative shadows that give life and movement to the patios. One of the highlights of the design, is the 13-meter column-free gallery, which offers an uninterrupted panoramic view of the sorrounding garden.
The creation of this challenging structure required precise engineering, which allowed functionality to be maintained without sacrificing aesthetics. The gallery is not only a transition point between inside and outside, but also a symbol of how architecture can challenge the limits of traditional construction. At the same time, the ceilings of different heights, especially in the kitchen and living room, maintain the aesthetics of country architecture, creating a spatial variability that enriches the experience inside the house, providing dynamism and depth and enhancing the modernity of the home. In conclusion, Elementos is a house that achieves a perfect balance between modernity and tradition, a refuge that fully integrates with its natural environment. Every corner of this home has been designed with a deep sensitivity towards the elements that surround it, and respect for its environment, creating a unique space, full of life and comfort, where nature is an active protagonist and an integral part of the daily experience.
