Located in the prestigious embassy district of Rabat, the new Thai embassy replaces the existing building to better meet the challenges of its diplomatic mission. Based on a fluid principle of circulation and access, the new building is composed of three elements with distinct functions, allowing the Consular section to be dissociated from the Chancellery.

We opted for a simple volume rooted in Thai architectural tradition, providing solidity and finesse in the wooden details, transparency of light, simplicity of assembly and a multitude of color palettes depending on the wood species and treatments applied.

The ancestral method of weaving is used both as a means of construction (partitions, exterior walls, occultations) and for various traditional objects and ornaments.  Through an interplay of elements that filter the light while emphasizing the transparency of the facades, the wood subtly pays homage to traditional Thai wickerwork and Moroccan wood carving.
