“How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun,” said 19th-century painter Vincent van Gogh. And he’s so right. As soon as you enter this home, a splash of “not so usual” color palette greets you in, which reminds you of spring blooms and the so longing sun after the gray winter. Lavender grey and mustard, this combo of color wheel opposites, is less common since it can be tricky to balance the two bold shades.

But in this case, the accent of deep lavender and mustard yellow, add color and vibrancy to the wood, which gives the perfect touch of rusticity to this contemporary home. The custom designed wall panels, look both traditional and contemporary, which add a special dimension and atmosphere to the dining area. The redesigned Lucite chair, inspired by the 1800’s illustrations of Albanians found on the columns of Illustrated London News, with it’s clear material, takes up no visual space; but yet holds a cultural heritage on its shoulders. The ghost chairs, paired with the wood dining table, bring a fresh sleekness to the area. The dining area connects to the kitchen, the heart of the house, as a continuation of materials and forms. The warm tones of the oak cabinets in the kitchen, tie in with the color and form of the wall panels. The custom designed rusted pendant lights, are the cherry on top. Each designed lamp has changes of pattern and color, adding the final patina to the space.
