A set of 2 tourist apartments in the center of Pontevedra.
Access to both apartments is through the typical "English patio" that generates a very usable terrace/esplanade space in a semi-private entrance area.
This access is linked to the rest of the house by means of a concrete pavement that extends throughout the house, that is, we only have one type of pavement, even in the shower trays that remains the same.
An attempt is made to maintain consistency with the materials and equipment used. The concept and appearance is quite rough or industrial, trying to integrate into the pre-existence, since we are inside a building integrated into the development of the city.
The tones are neutral with cement finishes and storage room doors, metal beam reinforcements combined with pine wood furniture to achieve a contrast of warmth for users.
With this project we try to find the beauty of the conventional, since there is no element that stands out independently due to its high price or being a material that is difficult to access for any reason, but the combination of all these elements gives us a very nice and consistent.
At the entrance, a yellow micro-perforated metal staircase is introduced to save the small difference in height that we have at the entrance to match the metallic reinforcement made inside. What gives it a shade of color with the idea of giving uniqueness and personality to the whole set.
The apartments are designed to be as functional as possible, they are two open living/kitchen spaces, joined to the entrance patio.
The same concept is used in the rooms, where the bathroom is also intended to be an extension of the rest space, fluidity is sought throughout the project.
The idea is that it be a space that is as usable as possible due to its small size.
