The Idea
When the clients first approached us, their brief was quite clear. They wanted a distinct design that was functionally innovative. Over further discussions, we envisioned a space that stood apart from the rest in its approach to a 20-storey urban commercial building; the design was to be such that it would bolster productivity and prevent the sense of being cooped up often associated with workplaces. We decided to give the occupants a whole lot of breakout zones that catered to different purposes. Some were cafes and lunchrooms, others were lounges and board rooms. Most offices included balconies.
Sustainability
Our design sets a new benchmark for environmentally conscious commercial development. By using low-emissivity glass and argon-filled double-glazed panels, Centroid minimizes the amount of heat that enters the building. This increases comfort for its occupants and significantly reduces the need for air conditioning. The air conditioners use Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) technology that uses the minimum energy required to maintain a comfortable temperature. Additionally, the building features a water recharge system that lessens dependence on local water sources, and an on-site sewage treatment plant enables water reuse for gardening and flushing, implementing sustainable resource management techniques.
A standout destination
Beyond its sustainable measures, what sets Sanghavi Centroid apart are its innovative and luxurious features. The 20-storey structure boasts a triple-height lobby with a stunning 40-ft-tall indoor waterfall, the first of its kind in India, along with levitating forest greens. The landscaped terrace, open for public and private events, serves as a cultural hub with art installations, fostering community engagement and creativity. The building’s integration of diverse materials like matte-finish aluminium fins, brick, concrete, and glass lends a unique aesthetic identity. The project’s seamless mix of retail, office and recreational spaces, coupled with a 400-ft frontage along key roads, makes it a standout destination in the commercial real estate landscape.
Multifunctionalism
The tower is divided into three distinct sections. A four-storey base integrates retail into the urban environment, ensuring high visibility and footfall. A 10-storey middle section hosts offices and recreational zones while a sleek crown defined by glass-and-metal fins comprises premium areas. The office floors are designed to maximize efficiency and collaboration, featuring large floor plates, breakout balconies, conference and board rooms. The design offers social amenities like art galleries, cafes, gyms, meditation rooms and lounges. The terrace enhances functionality by hosting events, turning a traditional commercial building into a cultural and recreational hub. Each aspect of the project is thoughtfully designed to enhance productivity, wellness, and engagement for every user. These innovations collectively define Centroid as a forward-thinking, iconic project.
