This Santa Ynez Ranch home is 3500 square feet and is set on one rambling floor. It has 3 bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms and in true ranch home fashion, it has an open kitchen/dining/living room/family room at the heart of it. The house is an inviting retreat sprawled across acres of vineyards, surrounded by olive trees, horses, goats and emus.
Corinne Mathern Studio was brought in to create a calming, inspiring home for our clients as a beautiful backdrop to their lives and collection of art.
The project took 2 years from signing the contract to installation. The clients had an incredibly detail oriented finishing contractor named “Maestro”. They only trusted him to do all of the intricate stone patterns and plaster finishes. He was a one man show so the project unfolded slowly…however, the finishes were so artfully done it was worth the time.
The house had these incredible, original pine floors that established a base, a soul and a jumping off point for the design. Wood, plaster and stone are our go to materials and in this gorgeous vineyard setting they felt effortless, elegant and just right.
We leaned into artistry and handmade finishes throughout the house: the refinished pine floors, the new solid oak doors throughout, the plastered walls, leathered stone, etc.
Our clients understood the importance of solid finishes and fixtures and you can feel it when you walk into the home.
